Hi thanks for your help yes the headunit is working now we have the correct code (it appears the headunit was replaced when the car was a year old)
I press and hold the source button to enter the cd changer code, but when I press it again after entering it, it just goes back to enter the code again.
    Cheers

Would this be the same transit and radio that you requested a code for yesterday and i replied, with a code, at 0920 yesterday??
  • OK... meant to ask model of your head unit.

I'm thinking there might be an error in the procedure you're using to enter CDC code. I've done this several times but memory letting me down... lol (given there's two CD changer systems CDC2 and CDC3)

Does your head unit have a CDC button?

    Try here

    Here's instructions of CDC2 ... maybe similar to CDC3

    Turn off stereo
Switch On Ignition (No need to start engine)
Press & Hold Preset "CD" and
Switch Radio On - Display Shows
    "CDC" And then shows "----"
    Enter Code ... using presets 1, 2, 3 1 and 4
When the correct code is shown Press and Hold button "CD" for 5 seconds.
    CD will then switch on.

Remember you can enter code twice into most Vauxhall head units... and all that does is remove the code from the head unit.
There needs to be a way of telling the system, the code is meant for the CD changer and not the head unit.. If <source> is the right button, I'd try holding it for longer .. say 5 seconds..

let us know how you get on m8

Ours is a 600 model, you turn the headunit on then press and hold the 'O' source button until it beeps then you can enter the changer code but when I press the button again to confirm I've entered the code it just goes back to the screen where you can enter a code ( it's the same but it's gone down a number, to let us know you have one less chance!!).
Thanks so much for your help

  • I'll try to find more information on this..

When you press the source button ... it beeps, does it flash up 'CDC' prior to this, indicating code to be entered is for changer?

My thinking is... that the system may think you're trying to enter the 'head unit' code again not the changer..

Hi with the radio on and the source button pressed it comes up "cd safe" then I switch off the radio press and hold source till it beeps, enter the code then press source again but it just goes back to allow you to enter the code again :( (with 1 lower digit)

    Cheers

    Hi Paul

I've just had it verifed somewhere else.. you have indeed got the correct code entry procedure.. even got a picture of your radio here as well.

If it's going from 10 - - - - to 9 - - - - , that would indicate you've got the wrong code for the CD changer. The 10,9... number reduces.. indicating wrong code entries. This is odd... for this to be correct, the code of the chnager would needed to be changed by a radio decoder..

All I could suggest is ... switch radio on (again make sure ignition is on).. press 'O' button... and when it comes up 'cd safe'... just leave it, could be thirty minutes... to see if it changes to "9 - - - -" by itself, then enter the code. press 'o' for 5 seconds.

Only other thing I can think of is a power issue, that it's not accepting code.
