Reg, went to a dealership & turns out that the original Rad/CD doesn't need any code for re-connection, but I'd need to know the Vin/Reg-Number of the vehicle that the 'replacement' came from before I could get a code for that - no chance there, as I got it from a web-'scrappy' who just had it on their shelf. Ho hum,... that's life.
    Cheers anyway.

Looked back your post, your radio is what's called VIN coded. The dealership is correct in saying that you don't need a code to enter, but the VIN code is programmed into the radio.. which needs to match the VIN number of the car being used in.

The dealership is wrong in saying you need the VIN code of the donar vehicle to get the radio to work... (this is the ant-theft policy)

The VIN code of your car can be programmed into the radio... and you'll need the services of a radio decoder to do this.. I'm sure radio decoder will be pleased to see receipt from online scrappy dealing in used parts, as the radio holds the VIN number of the car, it was removed from.

    Hope info helps.
