Anyway, the serial code is M110711. Totally baffling. Do you think Ford may have given the wrong ownership book to my step dad when buying the car?

If you can get the code for that serial number, you my hero and owe you a pint!

With regard to Ford, I don't think so but it could be a possibility.
Based on what you said before, my first assumption would have been that the radio was changed or blocked then recoded...but you say that couldn't of happened so, you got me stumped!

Hi,

I bought a car 'sold as seen' which didnt have any manuals with it, unfortunately I didn't fully think through the consequences of that one!! Never mind!

Anyway, I have had to have the starter motor replaced which obviously required a battery disconnect and as per the above I don't have the code to unlock the radio.

Over 1 and 1/2 hours driving in silence each day too!!

The radio is from a Vauxhall Vectra and the serial number is GM020532817306.

Any chance of this code being available at all?
