    Hi All,

I've just had my battery die on me, seems fine after a jump start but now I need my radio code. Having gone through all the paperwork I got with the car I cannot find it and I'm hoping that someone here will beable to help :)

    Vauxhall Astra 1.4 2002 Plate
    VDO CDR 500
    PA6-GF15
    GM 13 107 918

    Thanks in advance :)

EDIT: Gutted in further reading I can now see that I wont get one for free, can anyone recommend a site that will generate a code for my radio?

Post the 14 character Serial Number ...usually found stamped in the metal casing and beginning with PH************ or GM or RG or similar

As you have since found out Main Dealer or Radio Decoding Service for CDR 500 codes.

I don`t like to recommend anyone because if the given code fails to work in your radio , then you won`t get your money back.

The best option is a local Decoding Service (such as a Car Radio Store) who will get it working whilst you wait using a laptop.

  • Hi,

I have a stupid question, but I thought it was worth an ask anyway!

I have a 98 plate Fiesta, and my battery died the other day meaning that I now need the code for my radio! Problem, I can't get my radio out to check for the serial code.

My question is, is there a chance that I can find the serial code of the radio without taking it out, as it was a manufacturers fit. Then getting the code to unlock?

    Any ideas??

    Thanks.
