  • I don't know whether your going to be able to help here, but I bought my Ford Fiesta second hand about 3-4 months ago. I've been abit unlucky and my battery died yesterday morning. I had a new battery fitted but the stereo is now locked. I have tried removing the radio but i don't have the right tools to do so. I was wondering if there was any way of finding the code i need for my radio WITHOUT a serial number.. or even better how to display a serial number on the front of the radio? I have a Ford 6000 RDS stereo. Any help is appreciated!

If it is the "3 piece" radio then press 6&2 and the M ****** number will appear on the display. Any other model then the unit has to be pulled. If it is the old style with 4 round holes you do not need the tools, 4 nails, small screwdrivers or pieces of wire coathanger pushed gently into the holes will release the locks.
  • I'm getting nothing by holding those two. If i hold 1+6 then i get three seperate screens, one that says 'MGP DJS', another is '4-08' and the last is '07-00-00'. This probably won't help you at all. I'll pop over to halfords in the morning and pick up something to pull it out with! Thanks for the reply.

Hi, I'm a useless girlie....don't even know what my serial number is, but I have managed to remove the stereo - yay!

I have a Renault Scenic - 52 plate. The stereo has a barcode on it and the number is 8200152346TT287

Is this the serial number? Desperately need a code to drown out the noise of my kids in the back!

    Thanks Reg - you're a hero:T
