The SERIAL NUMBER required for a Ford Code is found on a label on the radio casing and normally consists of a LETTER followed by digits

serial 0088/1000 (the serialnumber was on the radio, that is the serial right? Or am I looking on the wrong place)

Sorry you're looking in wrong place;)
try pressing 2+6 this sometimes gives the serial
If not afraid you will have to remove it you are looking for M+6 numbers
