Thanks RegWorts, code worked a treat. Only thing is that I had to leave the radio on with the 'SAFE' display on for about 20 minutes before it let me put the code in. I think this was because I had already tried a few (incorrect) codes from applications that I found on the internet and the radio seemed to take a while to reset itself.

I can't see any more of them because they're covered up.

This radio is in my Vectra. The radio locked up when the clutch was done a few weeks ago. I can't remove the radio (nor can my local garage - it would appear that the radio has been removed/replaced before and one of the pins is bent. My local car radio fitting chappie - who is excellent, btw - says that it's a dashboard out job to remove the radio!). I got the numbers above by pulling the centre display and vent console (and breaking away some of the plastic mounting box).

I could go to Vauxhall and pay the £25 plus vat for a code. But it might not work if the radio has been replaced!

So I'm a bit stuck, I think. Eventually I'll give in and buy a nice new radio and have it fitted (goodness knows what they'd charge). But I don't really want one anyway :-)

Any help/hints/suggestions much appreciated.

I wonder if anyone has any idea on this (slightly different problem) with a micra '97 radio. (blaupunkt).

We definitely have the right code (have used it recently after a battery disconnection), but today, (following the battery draining away by headlights left on in a carpark) the radio is locked and putting in this code isn't working, just getting "secure", followed by "code".

Leave it switched ON ...UNDISTURBED ...for a couple of hours and it should reset itself
