Thanks mate, unfortunately since taking the stereo out I can't key in the code, it still has CODE - - - - and the power button/select button work but when I press the numerical buttons nothing happens, was working before...any ideas? I've unplugged both connections from the back but hasn't made a difference.

A different question, if i take the factory radio out and put my own in, will it play or will it still be in lock mode ?
You do not need to buy 'release keys' a bit of fiddling about with a couple of thin screwdrivers or similar will release each side at a time.

You should be able to replace with your own unit, you may have to get a wiring adaptor and maybe adaptor for ariel, you local car parts shop will help
  • Thank you, i'm off to vandalise the stereo lol hee hee

The majority of codes are entered as follows:
Switch Radio On - Display Shows
    CODE with " - - - - " flashing
    Press preset " 1 " repeatedly for 1st Digit
    Press preset " 2 " repeatedly for 2nd Digit
    Press preset " 3 " repeatedly for 3rd Digit
    Press preset " 4 " repeatedly for 4th Digit
If the correct code number is now shown
Press " SELECT " to Enter If you do not have a SELECT then normally button 5 is pressed.

Not sure why yours is not working!
There a 6 pages of ford stereos and most are as stated but yours may be different. Check HERE for full list (sorry going out not got time to trawl them myself!)

The "- - - -" isn't flashing is the only thing different to your description. Will have a look at the link, cheers!

EDIT - apparently it's codelocked and needs to be left on until it flashes again which is a bit annoying as I only have one key!

    Thanks for you help ScottishSapper

No problem, meant to say in reply that it may help to leave the unit switched on, undisturbed, this can take about an hour good luck

  • Hi, I Just replaced the battery on a 2003 Ford Fiesta, thought I was Ok as the Radio Code was written in the owners manual, however, the code is incorrect. I would be very grateful if anyone could provide the correct code. Details are:

    Ford 4500 RDS EON
    Serial Number M050233

    Thanks Alan
