Have you taken the serial from the manual as well??? Or removed the unit? Do NOT trust manuals.

The code for that serial is: 2769

Unfortunately the majority of SIEMENS/VDO codes (including your CDR500) will NOT be available for free (or cheap) from anywhere on the Internet as access is required to the original factory database…which is not commercially available..

Try your Main Dealer or a Decoding Service or your local Car Radio / Audio Shop (who are normally the cheapest option) who will connect it to a laptop to read/recode the memory chip (EEPROM)

Few possibilities;
1. Serial number is wrong! Did you get S/N from the manual or the actual unit, do NOT trust paperwork, remove unit.

2. Unit may have been 'decoded' in the past, if so then only option is to use a Decoding Service or your local Car Radio / Audio Store who will connect a laptop to read/recode the memory chip (EEPROM)
