  • Thanks for the help guys. I sat in the car for 1hr 25min and it changed so that i could type in the code. So i typed in the code as carefully as i could and it was the wrong code!!! On the vauxhall card there is two codes.

    1) Security Code
    2) Radio/Type Code

I typed in number two and it was wrong!

Going to go wait in the car again now and try the security code:mad::mad:

;)bet you really love your car stereo!
Just looked through al your posts, you do not appear to have actually asked for a code. Unless you have had the car from new, I would ot trust the Card, (previous owner may have had problems and had it re-coded!)

Everytime you enter a wrong code, the more chances of the unit totally locking up, good luck with the second code BUT I would still post the serial number on here and let RegWorts check it
  • The code didnt work with the second code either!! I have just wasted nearly four hours doing this!

If i was to post the serial number etc would it be possible to unlock it? If there was a code to unlock it would i have to wait for it to load again?

I am just awaiting the key so i can remove it and get the serial number

The radio will have to be removed from the car dashboard .
Then please quote the MAKE + MODEL of your radio plus ALL the LETTERS and NUMBERS on any LABELS , BARCODES or STAMPED IN THE METAL CASING.
Also quote the MAKE of CAR it is fitted into.

Here is a video showing how to remove a standard DIN radio from the dashboard. A pair of extractors are required (available from Ebay , Halfords etc ) but these can be made from 2 pieces of bent, wire coat-hanger or 4 small drills(using the blunt end) or 4 small Allen Keys or 4 small screwdrivers or 4 nails or even 4 darts.

An assistant is useful to pull the radio out whilst you are releasing the 4 securing clips

  • Not done of of the OLDER ones before ---- try 641

Thanks for this. Only just got chance to try this and it's now not letting me enter any code whatsoever. Any pointers?

    Thanks again

If you`ve already entered wrong codes previously , then it is most likely semi-locked.

To unlock, leave SWITCHED ON...UNDISTURBED until it has automatically reset itself.

This could be several hours as the waiting time doubles after each wrong code
