Will it be obvious when it has reset it self? Shall i leave the radio turned on when driving or does it not matter? Would a vauxhall dealer be able to solve this with out me having to leave it on? Regards

Once unlocked 4SAFE will disappear and it will display the normal code entry screen (This could be CODE or - - - - or similar as it depend on the make+model of radio )

If you take it into Vauxhall they will normally charge you a fortune so with patience it is worth doing yourself.

I Agree with RegWorts (MoneySAVINGExpert forum) a little patience and some research will save you the best part of £20+
I 'googled' the unit in your car and maybe the following will help:

A step by step guide how to sort out the issue when your cd/radio player has somehow ended up in safe mode, this worked for for Vauxhall Corsa. Ther reason why my cd player went to safe mode was my car battery was disconnected and the fuse was taken out and it had gone into SAFE mode and I was not able to put my code in.
The answer to my riddle is below:
Vauxhall Corsa Cd/Radio Player
1) Turn radio off
2) Start engine
3) Press and hold down AS button
4) Turn On radio WHILE holding down the AS button until there is a beep
5) Dial the code using the 1, 2, 3, 4 keys (eg: 1234 would be 1 once, 2 twice, 3 three times and 4 four times)
6) Press and hold AS button for approx 5 seconds
