Which network would you not touch with a bargepole?

Options
After recent spectacular flip-flops with Vodafone and their data charging, the arguing with the Director's office, the wrong information time and time again from all channels, this got me thinking.

I'm not loyal to any network, and I have had problems with operators in the past, but never anything like Vodafone. There is no way out of all the major operators I would ever go back to them.

Which network would you avoid in the future following your past experiences with them?

Which network would you AVOID following poor previous experience? 91 votes

3...never again am I going back to them. Nor t-mobile originally was one-2-one. I won't consider orange or vodafone. So it leaves O2. Come on o2 how long till you let me down?

If I was to take a contract out with 3, I would most probably end up pulling my hair out wondering how to get out of it.

Forget O2 and Orange, they dont care about their customers safety and let their customer decide whether of not they would like to receive premium rate unsolicited reverse charge short code messages by having a bar which customers can have added to their account to prevent these scammers from sending unwanted messages.

So that only leave T Mobile and Vodafone. T Mobile do not have the best network coverage although they do have a short code message bar.

Vodafone have the best coverage, plus the advantage of having the short code bar. Vodafone also have their own Customer Care eForum which is manned by Vodafone staff.

I moved all my contracts to 3 mobile after being with O2 for donkey's years ... 3 can be difficult, but they will eventually admit when they are wrong and re-negotiate rather than lose your contract. I find the network coverage in UK is overall as good if not better than O2, because 3 mobile handsets roam on Orange when no 3 signal is available.

I like 3's internet account management interface which is ten times better than O2's.

I like the fact that I can switch off internet roaming myself on the website, and I like the abilty to set a credit limit (zero if I want) to prevent the kids spending anything outside their £15pm bundle e.g. reverse charge texts, and to put a credit limit back on again if I change my mind next week.

Very easy to answer this one, Vodafone by a massive distance. I've had problems with both Orange (technical), and O2 (massive overcharging and general incompetence) in the past, but at least both these latter companies tried to help, and were polite in doing so.

Vodafone, quite frankly, couldn't seem to care less. So far I've been patronised, ignored and indirectly accused of lying in my communications with them.
  • Vodafone has to be the worst. I've not been with Three, but a friend is still with them after they resolved an issue for him. Orange were useless when I had an issue with them, but they did at least apologise and put a credit on my account. T-Mobile and O2 have never given me cause for complaint, but I wouldn't use Vodafone even if the phone and contract were free.

Not only have I had issues with them in the past, but everyone I know who's been on Voda has had a run in with them at some point. The issues ranged from selling duff phones and refusing refunds to losing phone credit and overcharging on contracts to name but a few!
In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move.

  • Definitely wouldn't touch vodafone. I've had contracts on all the major networks and vodafone was definitely the worst. T-Mobile was/is the best, going by own experience. Never really had any quibbles with O2 or Orange, either. 3 was a bit of a pain in the !!!!, but still nowhere near as bad as vodafone.

On the graph, Vodafone appear to be, by far, the worst provider (albeit out of only 25 responses). That said, my family currently have three phones from Vodafone and have aways had excellent service from them. I would vote for Vodafone as the best provider, but that is not the question here.
  • O2. I once read out word-for-word their Gold Insurance policy to one of their CS staff and they still refused to admit that the problem I had with my phone was covered by the policy. I moved to 3 twelve months ago and haven't had a problem. Last month, I signed my wife up to 3, too.

Well they didn't with me. They ignored my letters, their own store manager and lost my contract anything from £30.00 - £75.00 per month over £14.99 for a repair to a phone that they damaged.
