• My message above refers (and thanks to Donnie for their response).

Spoke to Allied Irish (0845 603 5468) who actually run the Saga Platinum card. You can pre-load card and, as long as the card stays in credit, there is no cash withdrawal fee home or abroad. No interest is of course payable. Lady did however warn me to be aware that some foreign banks will charge for cash withdrawals on a credit card but the ATM should warn you if they do.

No Loading Fee for foreign Curency and No interest rate, But I believe there is ATM withdrawal fee (aka ATM charges): 2% (Min £2).

So it is still Master Card Wholesale Exchaneg Rate - 2% .. You will get better value with foreign currency card

Why the ridiculous font? You clearly haven't read the posts properly.

Why not do so before making such a ridiculously prominent and inaccurate post?

Is it clealrly stated in their T&C about this, NO ATM withdrawal fee IF YOU ARE IN CREDIT ?

I have read somewhere that many credit cards do not allow people to have positive balance, especially if it is excessive, due to suspected money Laundry. I have read people credit card get locked because of this pending further investigation.

Cheers guys - thought all the pre-loaders had gone.

Note that some ATMs give you a generic warning that your bank may charge if you use a credit card - couple of times I've tried the NW credit instead of debit (fortunately different PINs) - well it was dark..!
