Free 32' LCD at Carphone Warehouse: what's the catch???
Hi, there
Carphone Warehouse currently has a deal giving a free 32 inch LCD Samsung TV with a Samsung C3050 on Vodafone £25 for 24 months.
From my experience, if a deal sound too good to be true, it usually is. I've wanting to buy a new TV and get a new phone contract and this somehow fits the bill but as I said, it does sound a little bit too generous.
Has anyone else out there has any info or tips on that?
Thanks in advance
Marcela

You're probably paying more than average for the texts/minutes. They do lots of deals like this and they are usually for a fairly basic handset coupled with a comparatively expensive tariff. If I've helped you please show your appreciation by using the "Thanks" button

Hiya,
The deal is £25 for 24 months, 300 mins, unlimited texts. The handset is Samsung C3050. The majority of users posted positive reviews for it on the Carphone Warehouse site but of course, there's always an unhappy one. I'm aware it's a basic handset but I'm not the kind of person who's fanatical about technology, if I have a basic handset that works properly I'm happy with that.
Any more inputs?
Tks0 -
do the sums, its a £600 contract, that 32" tv costs £280 on amazon, you can get that amount of calls / texts for £10 on sim only, so thats £520, so your paying £80 for a phone worth about £20 and your stuck in a contract for 24 months. really you are just buying the tv in installments, and paying interest on top.0

Hmm, thanks for the sums, I'm terrible at maths.
That showed that it really is too good to be true0 -
Cash back deals, free TV, Laptop and all the rest are cons.
CPW don't have the best rep for customer service either.0 -
I'd agree that these deals aren't all they're cracked up to be. I bought a mobile through Carphone Warehouse a few years ago, on the strength of what seemed like a very good cashback promise. The amount of time and hassle it cost me to actually get the cashback made me wish that I hadn't bothered.0
