M&S sale is TOMMOROW

Mine still haven't been dispatched and two items have dropped off. Ironically these are the two which aren't out of stock. Have just emailed M&S - such a shambles!
Maybe M&S could concentrate on people who bought from the sale on Wednesday and whose items still haven't even been dispatched yet before encouraging customers to make further purchases with their FURTHER REDUCTIONS ON-LINE email!
were those orders from several departments?
It's possible they're held up because their getting stock together from more than one distribution or fulfillment center?
I've found that in the past (comething like garden tools and kidswear!), so now I try to split my orders, and it worked great until they removed the store collection option, so now I'd have to pay several times for delivery unless they have a coupon!0 -
Hi everyone!
I have just started a thread on the M&S facebook page, under 'Discussions.'
I am disgusted that 'deliver to store' is no longer an option when ordering sale items.
The thread is here (if it shows - if not, it's called 'Now no deliver to store on SALE items.')
http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?topic=15238&uid=67341283611
Perhaps it will show them people are not happy about it! Not sure much will happen, but it's worth a try! Don't you think?
Thanks!

does anyone know whether Next still allow deliver to store on sale items?0

They have to invest the money in a completely new supply-chain management system and join their competition in the 21st century...
And that'll take a while I should think, especially as they also need to revamp their warehouse operation as well....currently according to press reports, their distribution network is archaic, and creaking at the seams...
The small number of people on this site who feel let down are a tiny tiny minority compared to the hundreds of thousands of sale customers - and yet, between this site and the M&S Facebook page, they managed to get M&S to put a warning note on every sale page that stocks aren't guaranteed until it's in your hands...
Well maybe they should learn to prioritise, and instead of throwing shedloads on patronising adverts (do you really buy something because an ex-manufactured-pop-star tells you to?) bring their creaking system up to speed.
There may be a small number of people on here compared to the amount of shoppers nationwide (you are assuming, unless you do have some connection), however, if we use this as a sample (something professional surveys are based upon) then it shows an unacceptable number of dissatisatified customers.
M&S used to have an old form of store delivery before t'internet - ie if you wanted an item not stocked in your store they would ring other stores/warehouse and get it for you. Then they removed this service, and recently brought it back in a 21st century design, only to remove it again! I have made my last online order if I can no longer have it delivered to store, and I bet I'm not alone. M&S, in its heyday, would have considered a 'tiny tiny minority' to be too much. According to the SA at my M&S, there were many people last time who suffered appalling service.
It will be interesting to see how they shape up with the new director - Stuart Rose made a lot of grave errors and misunderstood his customer base.0 -

Absolutely agree with you. M&S used to stand for top quality customer service. The prices were higher, but you knew you were getting good quality items, and the customer service was exceptional.
Now they've been easily overtaken by Waitrose on customer service, where the food is every bit as good, with a far wider choice, and usually a car park as well.
For clothes their quality's little, if at all, better than much cheaper retailers, and the customer service is certainly no better. The online operation's a constant disaster area, with frequent complaints on this forum and elsewhere which never bring about any improvements - just constant apologies. Now they've managed to apologise in advance via a message on the website. Big deal - why not sort the problem?
M&S is living on an outdated reputation. We used to buy all our clothes there, most of our food, and a lot of other stuff. Now the food mostly comes from Waitrose, and the clothes come from a variety of places.
If I still had my M&S shares, I wouldn't be keeping them. Times have changed, but M&S simply haven't kept up.0 -
My order finally shows as despatched but 2 items are cancelled. I should have selected Nominated instead of Standard delivery. Oh well, lesson learnt.0

I am also disappointed as I went online before the sale started. Put the items in my basket and paid the second after the sale went live, the stock showed over 10 in the size I wanted, and yet it was still out of stock when delivery came. Last time I had it delivered to the store, got all the way there, opened the box in store to find it had completely the wrong item in it. Even though the dispatch note inside said the right item.0

Went to the store today to pick up my two orders that I put in for store delivery before they imposed the ban, and they can't find them, despite me having received dispatch emails on Saturday. We've to phone them tomorrow to find out if they've turned up, and if they have then hubby will go to pick them up while I'm at work. Seriously unimpressed, the stuff in them is for our holiday, and we leave tomorrow night (we've got enough holiday clothes to take without them, for the most part, but if they don't turn up then we'll have to wait until a week has passed before they'll automatically refund us).0

Well, I placed six orders, four of them on Tuesday evening for delivery to my local store and two on Wednesday for which I had to pay postage. I've had them all with no cancelled items so I' m quite happy with the service this time round.0
