M&S sale is TOMMOROW

Oh, M&S you do make me smile (because otherwise I'd be crying with frustration!)

I'm waiting for a store delivery of two sale items and one non-sale item (that I ordered before they changed the delivery options to exclude delivery to store for sale items.)

I received my expected "Sorry - OOS" email today - only to find that it was the non-sale item that they cancelled, the others are seemingly on their way. Stupidly, the thing is still displaying that there are 3 in stock online, but when I called they said its a mistake. I'll just go buy in instore - they had loads there, but I won't now get the 10% discount from using the menswear code.

I received 2 dispatch emails for my 2 orders. One was delivered today and one is still to arrive. Strange when they were ordered on the same day, same time etc.

My order was due to be delivered yesterday on nominated day delivery. I had a phone call yesterday saying 5 items were cancelled and they couldn't do the norminated day, it's now due to be delivered sometime next week and he promised me I would get everything else. I'll wait and see!

I've had dispatch emails this morning for both my orders placed before they implemented the no store delivery policy, and everything seems to be coming! I'm due to pick them up in store on Monday. That's a surprise, and a relief, since most of it is extra warm weather clothes for our honeymoon, and we leave on Tuesday.

just checked on website (not received any emails from them and my hubby doesn't seem to have a spam box so can't check there!). one of my packages is due by 31st so i would have thought i should have had something to say it's been despatched today to get here for monday 30th?Starting to think i won't be reciving it after all, but fortunately i got everything i ordered really quickly from the Next, Asda george and Debenhams online sales lol so maybe just as well!

Mine still haven't been dispatched and two items have dropped off. Ironically these are the two which aren't out of stock. Have just emailed M&S - such a shambles!

Maybe M&S could concentrate on people who bought from the sale on Wednesday and whose items still haven't even been dispatched yet before encouraging customers to make further purchases with their FURTHER REDUCTIONS ON-LINE email!

checked again and now saying one order has been sent, though its the smaller order i did that was due 1st sept, its the other order with the really nice boys stuff in - i stayed up for when it started at 12am for that too (yes i know but i don't sleep well anyway lol so gave me something to do!)

I've just got back from the store - £49.99 jacket £12 (was £25) AND the matching trousers were £12! So I have a £74.99 suit for £24

I've never had anything stay in my basket long enough to get delivered from an on-line sale, even when I ordered items with big stocks, in the first hour.

I collected my two instore orders this morning and got home just in time for my two home delivery items to arrive by Royal Mail!

People are frustrated with M&S because you order things from the sale which are stated as being in-stock, only to find that a few days later they can't honour the order. Surely their stock system should be continually updated.

Well, no (I teach in Vietnam), and no, their stock system won't be continually updated for a while yet...it's based on a system that's too old (from the 1980's)

They have to invest the money in a completely new supply-chain management system and join their competition in the 21st century...

And that'll take a while I should think, especially as they also need to revamp their warehouse operation as well....currently according to press reports, their distribution network is archaic, and creaking at the seams...

The small number of people on this site who feel let down are a tiny tiny minority compared to the hundreds of thousands of sale customers - and yet, between this site and the M&S Facebook page, they managed to get M&S to put a warning note on every sale page that stocks aren't guaranteed until it's in your hands...
