O2 "age restrictions" for web browsing?

While browsing on my iP4, I tryed to gain access to a site which was restricted to over 18s with a O2 customer protection block. I had a O2 page pop up saying that I had to confirm my age with O2 by either:

1/ Credit card (charge of £1, £2.50 credited back)
2/ Call a number "61018" (which was engaged)
3/ Confirm by going into a O2 store.

As I have not seen this before, I have my doubts. Do others know of this? and is it genuine (as in O2).

Pretty normal. They just need to make sure you indeed are as old, as you claimed.

Thank you 'Quicklite'. Better to be safe than sorry, so I need to find out if it was not a scam.
