There are details about the car hire desks here http://www.aena.es/csee/Satellite?Language=EN_GB&pagename=subHome&MO=3&SMO=3&SiteName=IBZ&c=Page&cid=1047658429126
As Ibiza is a small island you should try to avoid the rentals that make you pay for a full tank of petrol at a high price. You would struggle to use more than half a tank in 6 days.

    AurigaCrown, National/Atesa, Europcar, Avis, Hertz.

I booked through holiday autos and the car was from National.
If you are arriving on a night flight many desks are closed.

Economycarhire wanted to meet me and take me to a depot for the car, so I didn't book with them.

  • thanks very much,

apt, Most of the rental agrements are if you have the car for longer than 3 or 5 days you have to pay for the tank i think.

richardw, i will be landing @ 4:15 am

A lucky escape, as they are a useless company.

As they are a consolidator and do not provide rental cars themselves are you referrig to:

    a) Economycarehire's service and how they dealt with the booking, etc, or,
    b) the service of the car rental company over whom Economycarhire have no real control?

    Both.

The car rental company that Economycarhire.com engaged to fulfil my booking with them, and who supplied an unsuitable, filthy, dangerous wreck.

And Economycarhire.com who took no interest in resolving the issue when I returned, initially claiming that I was not telling the truth, but when I provided proof that I was, declined to deal with the matter further.

As for Economycarhire.com having no control over the car hire company, of course they do. Economycarhire.com took my money and passed a good chunk of it to the car hire company. They should check that they are engaging reliable companies to work with, and take complaints seriously.
