Question about Pesonal Injury Claim

Ah now I have looked that up too
Nope, I don't remember methodically striking any offenders. The term usually refers to methodically striking the offender with an implement, whether in judicial, domestic, or educational settings.
Do you have a link for when I did that? :rotfl:
Actually seriously I'm not about scoring points.
I hope we haven't not helped someone.0 -
if you have a genuine injury and not in it for cash go a&e0

I just wanted to thank those people who gave me some useful advice and to let people know that I am NOT the sort of person who is out for all they can get I genuinely just wanted to ask how things worked so that I didn't just have the word of the company dealing with things. I am suffering from genuine symptoms which include back pain and stiff neck which mean that I can't pick my daughter up without causing pain to myself. But, it is manageable with pain killers and me avoiding picking up my daughter unnecessarily and I am aware that people have far worse to deal with hence me being happy to discuss with a nurse at this stage. I also appreciate the comments about attending a&e but I see a&e as somewhere you go when injuries are life threatening, require surgery or bones are boken and so I would attend the drs instead. Thank you again to those people that helped.Children need love, especially when they don't deserve it!0

I wouldn't recommend a&e on it's own.
They are for treating the immediate consequences of injuries.
They won't always have the time to discuss ongoing care.
I was on a works lunch when I had an accident and as it happened there was a nurse and a physio on the works site at the time, so all those of us who were injured were lucky enough to get immediate attention from a physio when we returned back to work.0 -
I just wanted to clarify to Quentin that my worry is not specific to the claim but the whole insurance process and is partly fuelled by the fact that in addition to having three of my children in the car I also had my brother and his wife who were visiting. My brother had a stiff neck after the accident and his wife had a bad back but both only mentioned it after we had left the scene. What would happen if I didn't want to persue a claim but they wanted to claim as passengers would they still be able to do it or would it still have to go through me?Children need love, especially when they don't deserve it!0

it would have togo through your insurance, you are going to have to declare the claim for the next 5 years anyway so might as well0

They can also claim for their injuries.
Injuries are not always apparent straightaway (because of shock or they take some time to appear).
So the fact it's wasn't mentioned at the scene doesn't matter.you are going to have to declare the claim for the next 5 years anyway so might as well
In general you have to declare accidents/losses for 3 years (convictions are for 5 years).
It can vary across insurers but for the majority of insurers it's 3 years.0 -
I was involved in an three car RTC yesterday after the car stopped behind me was shunted into me by a car failing to stop behind them.

The insurance company are dealing with a personal injury claim on our behalf and so got one of their legal team to call us to start the ball rolling.
At no point has anybody said that we must visit a doctor to support our claim. Now before anybody says anything I did phone the drs this morning and they didn't have any appointments for today but when I explained the situation they offered for the nurse to call me back. I spoke to the nurse and am happy that I don't need to do anything else at the moment although obviously if I feel no better then I will go to the doctors.
My questions is will this be sufficient action for the time being in terms of the PI claim as I presume the surgery will have a record of this contact.
Any advice welcomed as I haven't had an RTC before.
Thank you
You don't mention if you actually feel unwell?!0
