which network?

hi folks, my O2 contract is up next month and have been comparing different networks.[currently 500 mins/100 texts £15 pm]
need about 500 mins/500 texts per month and a new phone that i can get the internet on.
can anyone reccommend any good deals out there at the mo plz
have been with O2 for 8 years, but dont think they are offering anything reasonable.

at the moment i use my texts from the allowance when im abroad at 4 per text sent........does the 'unlimited text' let me do this plz?

tried o2 and they are only offering 18 or 24 month contracts..... would prefer a 12 month one tho

A good deal on a 12 month contract with a phone will be very very difficult to find, unless you go sim free

You'll probably find that even if you stick with O2 that you'll lose this facility. O2 have been phasing this out for a while, also the 1 x MMS = 3 x SMS facility.

Your best bet when it comes to a new contract is to see what the other networks can offer you then ring O2 and go through to Retentions (the option when you call up that says "If you are thinking of leaving O2"). They will do their best to offer you something close to what you've been offered by the other networks but there are no guarantees. I left O2 because even their Retentions team couldn't get close to what Three offered me on the same phone.

the 3 network used to have a bad reputation, have they improved then cos some of their options do look good.

spoke to retentions yesterday as the contract is up on 28th oct.

are these people on a bonus if they lose the most customers?

currently pay £15 pm for 400 mins and 1000 texts ( this was the online 30 and was given £15 discount each month]

only offering 18 mth contracts,the genio touch, 500 mins, unlimited texts for £25 pm......no discounts whatsoever

going to try Tesco mobile with a Monte with 500 mins, unlimited texts, unlimited internet for £21 pm and clubcard points on a 12 mth contract...............O2 have deleted the word 'loyalty' from their vocabulary!

just to compound the issue.......O2 text me a survey asking how I thought they performed when I had called them up!! needless to say it was 'useless, useless, useless!'
