Sky in another room, can you help me please?

I would like to have sky in my bedroom
(my freeview box has broken)

First of all i bought the multiroom kit from maplin
i THOUGHT i did everything properly
but obviously didnt:(

i then bought a 2nd sky+ box (same as i have downstairs)
still nothing

i'm obviously a bit thick:o
can someone help me out?
can i have sky in the bedroom?

i really dont want to pay the £10 per month if i can help it

  • A few things to check:

    * Have you made sure that the cable between the Sky dish and the box in the bedroom is connected? It may have become disconnected when routing the cable from the little LNB in the dish. The cable should screw into the LNB receiver.

    * Have you checked to make sure there's no obvious breaks in the cable? I've accidentally gone through a cable when using a cable clip and although I was lucky and didn't damage the cable inside, it might have done if you did the same.

    * Although it shouldn't matter whatsoever, try the other of the 2 satellite inputs in the Sky+ box (they're normally labelled 1 and 2)

    Even if it is correctly connected, the box in the bedroom will act like a Freesat box, so you'd only get the free to air channels. If you wanted the pay for Sky in the bedroom as well, no choice but to ask for multiroom I'm afraid.
