Hello niecsey,
I’m really sorry for your loss, I’m sure all this stress doesn’t help the situation at all. You’ve mentioned that someone is looking in to the problem for you. However, I’ll be happy to take a look myself if you wish. If so please email in via the email address on my profile page. I’ll look in to it as soon as possible.
Thanks

... there was no estate either......AS for her furniture etc l donated the lot to a cancer charity!!! ...
I'm pleased you have managed to resolve the issue with E.on.
However, you can't go giving away deceased's estate and claiming they left nothing. I hope for your sake this doesn't come back to haunt you at a later date. (not necessarily by E.on)
Was there any will? Or did your mother die intestate? Have you been granted letters of administration?
The estate should be used to settle any outstanding debts left by the deceased and any remainder distributed as per the instructions of the will, or the rules of intestacy where no will was left."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
What the hell you going on about? Everything left outstanding was paid! My Mother owed nobody nothing at all. What was left re the contents of the home etc was up to me and my siblings to deal with. I may of picked up on your post wrong but hey that sounded totally off that like!0

How many times do i have to say this?>??????????????????? Eon bill was paid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0

Premier is only trying to help put you straight on a few things, no need to bite his/her head off!
It is a fact that your gas and electric are charged after you have used the energy so even if you pay your bills the day after you receive them you will be in arrears for them for the amount you have used since the last bill was calculated. The only exceptions to this would be if you had a prepay meter which is in credit or if you were paying by Direct Debit and the monthly payment was set too high.
It's possible that other utility bills are paid in arrears too so what Premier was saying is even if you are completely up to date with any payments requested so far there could still be an amount outstanding.
The fact that your mom had her own home (albeit a rented council house) she still had an "estate". Everything she owned outright, her furniture, her tv, records, tapes, cd's, ornaments, clothes, jewellery, everything is her estate. Most of this stuff has more sentimental value than monetary value, hence the point Premier made about you donating everything to charity.
At the same time, I can understand you needing to vacate the property and having to dispose of your moms stuff (I can only begin to imagine how hard that is as I've only experienced this when my nan died and I'm a sentimental old cow who associates objects with memories).
I do understand how distressing it is to recieve bills months after the fact, I got a demand for my daughter's funeral which her lowlife biological father had supposedly paid. It's hard, it's shocking, it's upsetting but we deal with it and eventually we heal. Please don't lash out at people who are only trying to offer help, support, symapthy and practical advice at a time when you are still very raw and somewhat vulnerable and asking for advice.
Please believe me, the pain of your loss will get more bearable and this episode with E.on is over now (hopefully - you never know with energy companies!).
Take care
