Any suggestions - kids channels!

Hi

Hope someone has an idea! My friend is currently having to rent a house for 6mths (her's was all but destroyed in a fire - no one hurt - but they have lost all their possessions)
They had huge difficulty in finding a 3 bed rental house in a 10 miles radius to her home - one became available so they took it.
The house does not have Sky nor are they 'allowed' to put up a dish. Her husband can 'cope' without sky sports but her nightmare is the lack of kids channels - playhouse disney and nick jr or the next 6mths. None of the big cable companies will give her a contract for just 6mths. She has bought a freeview box but it does not have these channels. She has bought a few DVD's but they soon will get bored and this won't work for too long!
Another alternative is that I have virgin media and can copy on to a recordable DVD player - any suggestions for cheap but good ones?
Thank you

If you still have your Sky contract just mount the dish in the garden on a spike.
Or your friend can buy some books, games or outdoor sports equipment etc...

Cant you sign up with virgin then move the services to your new house when all is fixed?
  • If they have broadband then they can stream cartoons/kids tv

Just google streaming kids tv (or alternatives)

Agree with Kurtis-it's very unlikely that the rental agreement prohibits Sky, it probably just prohibits unauthorised additions to the exterior of the property, which of course covers sat dishes.
As long as there is a clear line of site to the satellite then the dish can be at ground level remote from the house.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
