Apple slices with peanut butter on are meant to be a very attractive bait for them. I can't remember what we used mind you - my parents had 2 coming into the loft to chew the TV cables a couple of years ago.0

I also have squirrel problems, on a 4th floor balcony the little sod comes up and eats my strawberries! and digs up the tulips...
