I have a pesky squirrell that loves to wake me up every morning trying to chew through the cable on my roof.
It is a great game and he will eventualy win.
I am out of ideas.
Hand clapping, throwing little pepples (my aim is not good) the hose jet won't reach him.

You aren't allowed to drown it but apparently you can legally beat it to death with a wet kipper.0

drowning...not allowed because of unneccessary suffering inflicted...there was a chap prosecuted a few weeks ago for doing that....why he felt the need to tell people I don't know...
squirrel trap....catch it, put it in a sack, swift sharp blow to top of head....seemples....(wait that's a meerkat)....bobs yer uncle.
you better hope it doesn't gnaw it's way into your roofspace or you are going to have REAL trouble!
thought...could you substitute the cable for one carrying 240 volts and smear it with a little peanut butter?I'm now a retired teacher... hooray ...:j

Use a trap. If it's a red squirrel it's illegal to kill it, so you would have to take it elsewhere (far, far away) and release it. If it's grey it's illegal to let it go, so you've either got a vicious new pet or you have to "deal" with it somehow.0

sorry....should have reinforced that as well....if it's Red....let it go...if it's grey...you are obliged to dispatch it humanely...greys (American) are vermin and are decimating our beloved red squirrel (British) with the various diseases they carry....
I just wish there was a way to stop neighbours putting out food for these loveable woodland creatures (greys), they might as well be feeding these giant rats that are springing up all over the place now as well...did I mention they feed about 20 feral pigeons as well....bl00dy wildlife vermin... bl00dy neighbours!:mad:I'm now a retired teacher... hooray ...:j

A humane way to deter it would be to coat your cable in chilli oil, this also works with bird feeders(mix chillies in with the food) as birds aren't affected by caspican, but mammals are.If at first you don't succeed, maybe bomb disposal isn't the best career choice.0
