OP, is your friend intending to make a retrospective claim for royalties? If so I don't think he'll succeed if he accepted a session fee.
This reminds me of the story about Rod Stewart's guest vocals on Python Lee Jackson's 'In A Broken Dream'. Reputedly his fee was-a set of leopardskin car seat covers (very trendy accessories in the early 70's I recall). It went to number 3 eventually and he's probably still kicking himself...

absolutly not. this is not the reason im writing this. Im sure he said he had to sign something to say that they took £50 rather than royalties anyway.

I just want to find if his name is anywhere on the single thats all.

Another reason to be honest is that my mate does not have this single cover, it would be nice actually if this is proven is to get the cover and frame it and give it to him, he's a great guy with loads of stories to tell!!

I'm on a similar quest myself.

Whilst in america a number of years ago I ended up staying in a KOA campground and became friends with a guy called Garry. He was a great musician and would always play his guitar for me and was a good singer. Anyhoo if anyone knows the doctor hook song 'when you're in love with a beautiful woman' then the guy who wrote it was called 'Even Stevens' or 'Garry', the guy who I was friends with. He indeed proved the claim by showing me the back cover of an album where lo and behold there he was with the band!

Am trying to track down more info via the internet but most of the info on Even Stevens is about that kids program with the awful shia la bouef!

Good luck with your hunt, I would love to meet my friend again but I reckon there is more chance of hell freezing over!

    :)

The writing credits for WYILWABW are indeed for an Even Stevens, but according to Wikipedia, there wasn't an Even Stevens or a Garry in the band.

Dennis Locorriere is a very affable and down-home fella. He's touring the UK at the moment, I'm sure he'd give you some more info if you approached him about it.

I'll scan it and stick it on photobucket if you want!

It didn't have a 'cover' as such. It was in a plain red Polydor sleeve, with all the publishing details on the record label.

Thanks very much for the info, I'll take a look at the website tonight and will send him and email. You're right about even stevens & garry not being mentioned, there's a distinct lack of info about, hopefully Dennis (if he replies!) might be able to help!

    Many thanks again!

I think my quest may be coming to an end then, especially if folks have covers and no credits on it. Its a shame ans like the other person on here, we all get a bit of the 15 mins of fame but trying to prove it can become difficult.
