This is not exactly a question that fits into any thread on MSE but i really need some help with this one.
Im hoping some MSE member might have the 7 inch vynal original single with the credits on the back.
Here is the story, i have a friend who says it was him playing the drums on the original single when it was recorded in the studio. he tells us a story of his band recording a single in the 70's and in popped Slade, minus the drummer, he says Noddy told his band that they needed a drummer as the drummer from slade was involved in an accident, so my mate filled in for £50 rather than royalties, £50 was a fair few quid then and Slade where not a really big band at that time.
anyway, hope someone can get me the answer, which is
Who was creditted on the single 'come on feel the noise'

All the big powers they've silenced me. So much for free speech and choice on this fundamental human right, and outing the liars.

That's the wikipedia credits, bit more detail that seems to fit:
On 4 July 1973, when Slade were popular in Europe and number one in the UK Singles Chart with "Skweeze Me Pleeze Me", Powell was badly injured in a serious car crash in Wolverhampton, in which his 20-year-old girlfriend Angela was killed. He broke both of his ankles and five of his ribs. Surgeons had to drill into his skull to ease the internal pressure and he was unconscious for six days but he came round and eventually pulled through, finding the best therapy to be work [1] [2] . By mid-August Powell was back recording with the group. When the Top 5 hit "My Friend Stan" was recorded, Powell was still walking with the aid of a stick and had to be lifted onto his drum-kit. The accident left Powell with no senses of taste and smell, and to this day he has severe problems with his short-term memory, whilst his long-term memory has remained unaffected.IT Field Service Engineer, 20 years with screwdriver and hammer0 -
Hi
I am wondering if the accident that was refered to is the car crash he had but this accident didnt happen until 4th July 1973 & this single was released on 23rd February 1973
Not sure what your mate meant by Slade not being a big band at this time.......they had already had 3 number 1 singles before !!! on feel the noize as well as 2 top 10's & a top 20
I think thats pretty big in my books - lol
Before you ask .....i was a massive Slade fan at the time
Just wondering0 -

I've got the original 1973 single. Just says !!! on feel the Noize (Lea-Holder) Produced by Chas Chandler for Barn Productions.0

OP, is your friend intending to make a retrospective claim for royalties? If so I don't think he'll succeed if he accepted a session fee.
This reminds me of the story about Rod Stewart's guest vocals on Python Lee Jackson's 'In A Broken Dream'. Reputedly his fee was-a set of leopardskin car seat covers (very trendy accessories in the early 70's I recall). It went to number 3 eventually and he's probably still kicking himself...No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

So, there is no names on the actual 70's single.
my mate isnt a lier, he just said he was in the right place at that time. they where redording a single for a group 'Rainbow' but they had to change the name because there was a group in the US already called it. Cant think for the hell of me what they changed it to.
Another story he tells is when they got beat on Oppertunity knocks by a singing dog.
would love to find old shows to prove this to.All the big powers they've silenced me. So much for free speech and choice on this fundamental human right, and outing the liars.0
