Warning: IKEA misleading pricing

i'd sue for compo. those bastards can't be allowed to be carrying on ripping off good, sensible, tax-paying honest british citizens. the 30p you've been blatantly overcharged by these highwaymen might aswell have been £300 for all the difference it makes in principle, the dirty, thieving, surstromming-eating bastards. i'd get onto the small claims courts and get a summons in quicksticks and let ikea know you're not one to be fucked with. show them a bit of that scottish temperament. maybe consider a few tinnies of special brew before writing a letter to headquarters. i have a feeling i get sometimes when i read about johnny foreigner companies coming over here, overcharging us. i think we might be on to some sort of multi-national conspiracy to undermine the british economy and the recovery efforts put in place by the con/dems. i'm not sure of the motive behind why sweden would be wanting to do this as of yet, but it's clear that they intend on once again screwing this nation over with their values. i expect we'll start seeing their staff in their stores to be wearing horned helmets and eating meatballs very soon as part of their take-over plans.
also consider sending a forwarding letter to the foreign office, detailing this new found conspiracy. it may be necessary to put in place some sort of rounding up of all things swedish - a national ban on ikea furniture, a destroying of abba records and ulrika johnson burnt at the stake as the unfunny bintwitch she is.
we need to bring down the corporations who may be supporting, sponsoring or giving any kind of help or aid to ikea, because they're all bastards too.
let me explain to you how this works: you see, the corporations finance ikea, and then ikea goes out... and the corporations sit there in their... in their corporation buildings, and... and, and see, they're all corporation-y... and they make money.
this scam, con, or whatever you want to call it, can't continue. i'm going to start a national petition to get ikea closed and for the swedish menace to be eradicated from this country and i want you, nick edinburgh, to be my poster boy - the symbol of all those that have been screwed over by the swedish man. we will be victorious in overcoming them and once again purging this great land of nordic invaders.

it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
their - 'owned by them'
they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)0 -
I've seen those signs in Ikea before.
I didn't know about Ikea Family Card. With so many other stores having slogans on price barkers, I wrongly assumed Ikea Family was their version of "every little helps" like Tesco and that the big price was applicable to all. Here I go again on my own....0 -
I agree, the price is clearly the Ikea Family price, it is only misleading to the careless.0

Ikea is a nightmare to find your way around, so maybe the OP was disorientated (as I was when I went there) and failed to exercise due caution!:)
My local Dunne's Stores supermarket plays a similar trick on the unwary - they often put a label on a shelf like this:
Save
£1.50
£4.50
So you pick it up and only discover at the check-out that it's £4.50.0 -

To be honest im with the OP on this one, there is no good intention in this kind of advertising. It either tricks people or lures them to the sign to only find out its not as good as an offer as you thaught0 -
