Orange BlackBerry contract for an O2 iPhone Contract

I was oh so mistaken.

I got out a BlackBerry contract in January (2 years at £35 pm). I went into the shop and asked them which would be better - iPhone or BlackBerry. They gave me the usual about what I'd be using it for how many minutes/text I'd use etc etc

Got it home and had the usual new gadget love. Apps galore... but oh! wait! I can't do that... ok maybe I can do this instead? nope can't do that either. "I can" replied my smug partner who got his iPhone a day before I got my BB. SO after months of playing on his iPhone and also moving to a new place where I can't get ANY signal unless I'm half way down the street (and I live in the city, not the country!) I have decided to get an iPhone, even if it's not the new one. In order to do this I need to either pay the contracts side by side OR sell the BB and pay off the balance with the money I make (and possibly a bit on the credit card too or something)

Is this a good idea or can anyone give me a better suggestion? Also if I'm paying it off early can I still get my PAC code?

  • Hi there

It's a shame that you have 2 issues here - signal strength and crummy phone. If it was just the fact that you wanted an iPhone, you could have bought one and shoved your existing sim in it. As it is, if you want to change service providers, you are going to need to get out of your existing contract too.

Sorry, but it's going to have to be buying your way out of the Orange contract and into an O2 one, but they should be happy to give you your PAC code at any time.
In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move.
