Skobbler Iphone App or Buy a Sat Nav?

Hello All,
I haven't tried the skobbler app yet, just downloaded it. I was originally looking to buy a sat nav but the app was free (anything for a cheaper life) just wondered if anyone had, had any trouble with it? does it work ok, is it loud enough? if so my option may be to just buy an iphone car holder instead of a sat nav= saving the pennies! :)

  • Hi there

Skobbler has received some very good reviews, but you do need to remember that it's a German prog that's been converted to English. It also uses your Data allowance as part of it's mapping system. As a "now and then" sat nav, it's fine.

If you need a sat nav for regular use, you'd be better off downloading Co Pilot or Tom Tom (Co Pilot is cheaper) and they recommend you download it via your PC rather than straight on to your phone because of the size of the file. If you have a bluetooth car kit, I think you can stream your music to the stereo and it will mute for calls and directions.
