Wedding Dress Factory Outlet

I have been looking for a wedding dress for ages.... i want something traditional yet different.
Have been made to feel very uncomfortable in most bridal shops i have visited but not at the Outlet Factory.... they where amazing. I have found the most amazing dress and could not be happier and half the cost of my budget.... so more money for other things :T0 -
If you go on Saturday it gets very busy. You can only put 4 dresses on the rail at a time and when yours are at the front you get the next changing room. So worth having a friend to put your second 4 on the rail whilst you are waiting. And get there as early as possible!0

I also LOVED it there:

I read on this other link that they haven't got much in for 16+, I've just phoned them and they said they had about twenty dresses in a size 22, she also said they had a few in a size 24 cuz for wedding dresses you do tend to go up a size. Though in the shop I visited recently I was a 26/28!
Have any other "plus size" brides been there?0 -
Are there any other similar places anybody knows of, further north?0

Reporting back from a visit to the Wedding Factory Outlet today:
Reasonably big range, even in my size (22) they had at least 10 different dresses. We picked 4 (swapped one after my friend found a pin in the lining of one!), hung 'em on a rail and waited till there was a room free - only about 15 mins, picked another 4, and so on. One of the girls came into the room with me to put the dresses on, but they turn their backs while you're getting undressed so you get the opportunity to straighten pants or push errant bosoms back! They're very helpful and discreet.
The one dodgy thing (for which I shall be providing feedback to the company!) was that when I asked one of the assistants if they had any mermaid styles in my size, I was told "we don't tend to stock that style in larger sizes, the thing is that if you're larger, when you try the dress on it doesn't look at all like the image you had in your head, so we don't offer them"..!
A simple "no we don't stock them" would suffice! I may be a size 22 but I'm also nearly 6ft tall and hourglass shape, the mermaid dresses suit me as well as the A-line! Thankfully I'm not easily offended, it gave me and my friend a bit of a giggle as we continued our search in the "you're fat but you can still wear these" section.
In the end I found something that I really really liked, they didn't have quite the right size in stock but she gave me details of who to contact to find out when they will. Overall it's well organised, most of the dresses are just under £400. Just double check what you're buying for stains as obviously some of them are ex-display (and for pins!). Definitely worth my 2 hour round journey though.dingdongavoncalling wrote: »Are there any other similar places anybody knows of, further north?

I got my dress from there and they were lovely. The only downside is that they are communal changing rooms. My mum and gran got their dresses for the day from there as well0 -
There is a factory outlet in Northallerton in North Yorkshire but there is a lovely little shop in Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire, called Curvy Bridal, prices are brilliant. My daughter bought hers there before her wedding 4 weeks ago.
Beaded top, beads fading all the way down the dress which had a long train, strapless absolutely stunning in a claret colour for less the £1k looked as if it was worth £3K
You can sort of see it in my Avatar, left.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Are there any more that are further north?0

Thanks. Was hoping for one nearer Scotland as need to book overnight accommodation if it is more than a couple of hours drive and that really pushes the price up.0
