Wedding Factory Outlet Leicester - review!

Hi ladies
I know quite a few of you were interested in going to this in the next few weeks so as I have been today thought I would give you a quick lowdown.

I think it is definitely worth a visit. No dress I tried on, including the Anna Sorrano's, were over 400. There were a wide variety of dresses. Staff were really helpful and attentive. There was a queueing system for the changing rooms which I could imagine is a nightmare on a Saturday but wasn't too bad today. This is it's only bad point!

I didn't buy my dress from here as it confirmed my thoughts on another dress ('the' one!) but it was definitely a close second.

Another tip - if you are making a trip just for bridesmaids, don't bother unless you only have one and are not bothered by the style! There are no dresses the same in this section and a lot of red. If I had made the trip specially to find my 3 bridesmaid dresses in purple, I would have been disappointed.

Hope this helps! Any questions, please ask!

That's great thanks for the review, i'd been wondering if it was worth the trip.

  • Hello, just would like to add that if you are a size 16 plus there is not much choice at all, especially as some dresses are a small fit and you have to go up a size. The place was really nice and the staff lovely but I wish that someone had drawn my attention to the sizes as it was a long and disappointing journey for me.

I went on Saturday with my mum, thought I'd put some thoughts on here in case they help anyone else:

Great place, loads of dresses. The Anna Sorrano ones they are pushing on their website are fine, but to my mind, cheaper looking. They do come in more sizes though (i.e. the same style is available in several sizes).
There was a pretty big selection of other styles and designers, and colours.

On Saturdays, there are no appointments, so you just pick out some dresses and wait for a changing room and a person to help you get dressed. We waited about 20 mins in total, which was pretty reasonable. Whilst we were waiting, we got to see other brides trying on, which was fun.

I would agree with emmie that larger sizes are not so well represented. Plenty of 8, 10, 12, 14, some 16, and then a few above that.

I didn't find the dress for me, and I'm not sure I'd prioritise coming back, as there were a LOT of fishtail style dresses (which I definitely do NOT want), but I do think it's worth visiting.

The service was great, and they have a few accessories for trying on if you want them (personally I wish they wouldn't try and stick a nasty cheap tiara on you, but that's me!)

They don't allow chaps in (one did try, bless him, but was asked to wait outside!) and it's not the personal service of a smaller shop, but the prices are much lower. All the dresses I tried were in pretty good shape, not as grubby as many samples I've seen.

At busy times, they limit you to around 5 dresses at once in the changing rooms (but you can keep rejoining the queue for another go, obv.)

If you want something pretty traditional/classic (A-line, or fishtail, full length), it's worth it. I didn't see any tea-length or shorter dresses, nor were there any particularly unusual ones. Plenty of coloured dresses if that's your sort of thing. Not much in the vintage-looking way either.

    HTH xx
