Tmobile: Im being charged for international calls i didnt make?

Hi
Just wondered if anyone can help?
Basicly i went to Jamaica for 2 weeks i only used my phone to text home(England) a few times whilst out there. When i got home i phoned Tmobile on a different matter and decided to check my bill whilst i was there. Imagine my surprise when it tells me £218 not inc VAT!!!

So i then got put threw to customer service to ask why my bill was so high?
The lady told me that £12 was voicemail that had conected ok fair enough. She then told me that i had made a call nearly everyday for between 5-10 mins.
I asked what time these calls were made and she said between 7am and 11am english time. so 1am-5am jamaican time.
I did not make these calls!!! I am so so angry i cant afford that sort of bill. The only way i could afford Jamaica was threw inheritance money!
Im refusing to pay it. Wil this affect my credit rating??

Any help on what to do would be brilliant.

Thank you.

This is the third time I am reading this in this forum. And the country is always Jamaica. The others that reported this issue swore they never even touched there phones while there, and the calls were all made at odd hours. Could the Jamaican operators be pulling some tricks here?
  • Well I certainly didn't ring out on my phone. The tmobile operator ispoke to has kindly given me the numbers I supposedly rang and surprise they're not even in my phone. I shall be phoning them tomorrow from my house phone. They even had the uk dialing code before them which I don't even know!!!! Very strange!

Been to Jamaica loads of times and never had a problem regarding bills, don't know the operators are pulling a fast one.
    1) they can't
    2) digicell is cheap enough to use was less than 15p/min to call the UK and even less for the US or local calls.

Did you use your mobile to call other people you were on holiday with, in Jamaica?? I'm sure this isn't the case as you said you didn't recognise the numbers, but if you had these do count as international calls, as it still has to be routed via the UK.

Not paying the bill will impact your credit rating - unless you get them to put the bill in query and hold the payment request to the bank.

You need to speak to them and raise an official dispute on the call data - they would have provided Tmo with your sim and imie data so i'd be surprised to see how an error could be made.
  • Nope I didn't use my phone to call anyone at all. I did text people in the uk. But I never phoned anyone! Like I said in my first message I didn't even know the dialing code until yesterday when the lady at tmobile told me!

If someone tries to call you whilst you are roaming, and the phone diverts on no reply or unreachanble, the call routes back to the UK as if you made that call, I suspect the number is your dedicated voicemail number?? Have you dialled the number since returning to the UK to see if a person answers?
