Just following on from an earlier message. I had my FIRST email today regarding and order with play (that was supposedly 'in stock') and it said the could not supply it. This order was placed on the 4th AUGUST!

OMG - I have also ordered through play.com - does this mean that it looks like I wont be getting my Elmo after all?? :(

The information I have found indicates that there will be very limited or indeed no more ELMO's...!!!!

I have a close family member who is quite high up within the toy industry & he told me "with confidence" that the numbers of ELMO's ordered for manufacture fell way short of expected market demand.

The main reason being is that the technology required to produce ELMO is complex & the parts used come from many different suppliers. In short there is no way they could possibly order & produce more ELMO's before Christmas.

He said the toy & games industry has to order sufficient stocks up to 12 months prior to the following Christmas in order for the manufacture to take place...with only 10 weeks to go until Xmas he said...

..."it simply cannot be possible to order, manufcture the parts, produce & distribute in such a short space of time, it's impossible"

He also mae the valid point that nobody knows what will be a Christmas hit until it's too late, ELMO TMX is once again proof positive of this phenomenon.

So there you go, if you want one I would take the bull by the horns & snap one up 'EXTREMELY QUICKLY' as the demand will become ever more immense & this will inevitably push the price to a staggering level.

Ebay seems to be the place to find one at the moment, currently you can snap one up for around £40 +P&P. This price will no doubt rise fairly quickly.

We HAD to open it at work as soon as I'd got it and we've been in hysterics all afternoon.

Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...

Did you choose store delivery?..if so, it might be worth ringing your store and asking them to go and look if its in.

I ordered something recently and i was waiting about a week after my card was charged with no sign of delivery. In the meantime, I ordered something else from them...which did get 'delivered'. When I went in to collect that, the SA produced my original order from the back as well as the thing i was actually there to collect (a TMX as it happens :o ).
