I think the next shipment of these will be crucial. IIRC, Fishers-Prices's own online US shop is quoting a next shipment date of 8/12/06, which is pretty close to Xmas. If we have a HUGE load swamping the stores, game is up. If we don't, and they sell out as quickly as the first lot did, game is ON. I *do* have a suspicion that F-S are playing the hype card at the moment, but who knows?

PS I think US ebay prices are meaningless at the moment due to the sheer huge numbers on there. Ebay UK seems to be the one where the profit is at the moment.

Hi, how did you find the shipment dates, all I can see is it says sold out - just want to keep up to date. I have sold 6 so far, 1 left to sell and keeping 2 just in case. lol.

Just noticed on ebay.com last week around the 21 Sept there were approx
13, 000 items, yesterday there were over 30,000 and today only just under 8000 - when I search for tmx elmo. Hasn't really made a difference to prices, but maybe it will.
  • Lets hope

IIRC, it was quoted in one of the US articles on the saga, F-S's online store had told people they could order a maximum of 2 per person and they would be available on 8/12/06. I'll have a scoot about and see if I can get the link.

Edit: It's here, contained in a review of it by someone on Amazon.com

Go to Fisher-Price online store!!!!!, September 22, 2006
Reviewer: Michelle Vallejo - See all my reviews

The Fisher-Price online store is accepting orders for TMX Elmo for $40, the site said it would be available to ship on December 8, which should be plenty of time for Christmas!!!!!!!!! I just placed my order 5 minutes ago!!
I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!

This could explain how the night before last people were selling links to a preorder offer, on the US fisher price online store it had highlighted maximum order of 4 per person but when you click on that it says sold out. Could be that the shipment 8/12/06 will be taken up by preorders.

This is the text from one of the (now ended prematurely) ebay.com ads:

Please read all info below first........

This auction is for a link to a reputable and well-known website that I have located to preorder a TMX Elmo for $40 plus shipping. Up to four of them may be purchased per order at the site. Again, this auction is not for me to provide an Elmo, just the link! I don't have anymore either!!!

I guarantee the link to work, but I cannot guarantee how long they will be taking preorders or how many they are reserving for preorders, since i don't have that info.

Payment must be made immediately via Paypal, and I will send the email to you immediately after receiving payment. Please note that the total is $3, and the shipping fee is mandatory. I used this price structure to increase visibility in the Ebay searches.

They are currently backordered until December 8, 2006.

If you have any questions, please feel free to send me an email.

Looks like even Fisher Price have sold out of their DECEMBER 8TH ALLOCATION!

  • If you check out the F-S USA website it says

    "T.M.X™

    Product #: H9207

    Ages: 18 months & up

$40.00 Quantities limited; only 4 per order.

    Sold Out

    ...

We’re tickled that you love him as much as we do!
It’s no secret now: T.M.X. Elmo is one popular character! So popular, in fact, that he’s temporarily sold out. We’re sorry to disappoint you, and we’re trying very hard to keep up with demand, so please stop back soon to see if T.M.X. Elmo is once again available for sale. "

Now we don't know whether this is for the current stock or the pre-orders. Anyone?

Also big toy stores have not shelved elmos, is it possible they have them available in their warehouses?

Looking at the ebay sales for links as a post above yours shows, this is apparently for the stock due in 8/12/06. Also not sure how you know that big toy stores have not shelved Elmos, both Woolworths by me have and have sold out. Hamleys, Amazon, Toys R Us have sold out online.
