I find the whole buy/sell c*ap very disheartening. I thought that this site would continue to be a community of bargain hunters looking out for each other rather than a bunch of greedy chancers looking out for themselves.
I've taken some flak from the greedies and I'm happy to take it because I think the vast majority of site users are positive contributors rather than self-centered sleezebags.

This happened to me too, so I offered the buyer the following choices to resolve the matter:
1. They don't pay and I report them to Ebay.
2. They pay up in full as per auction and I send them the Elmo.
3. They pay me something for compensation of my fees and my time and we both leave positive feedback as though the sale had gone through. I suggested $20 would be sufficient.
They went for option 3, although I would have preferred to have option 2, at least I got to keep the Elmo and sell it again.
I have sold to a quite a few foreign bidders and so far they have all paid up bar this one.0 -
i told him to either pay me the $7 it has cost me in fee's or i will report him as a non paying buyer.0

Couldn't see the supply dropping off so I threw mine on e-bay at the end of last week. 1 sold for £39.99 and 2 for £42.99. So not a huge profit but worth the gamble. I didn't lose any money so I'm happy enough. You've got to be in it to win it as they say.0

I've just returned from New York where I was in the big Toys'r'us on times Square, big sign showing that no elmos will be available before christmas.

Shortage? What shortage?
How many British kids will be crying into their Rice Crispies come Christmas morn becaiuse they haven't got one of these Elmos?
The only reason they keep selling out is because some people think they can make a fast buck.
Wait until the post Xmas sales if your kid really wants one - they'll be half price or less and you can say Santa left an extra gift because he/she was so good over Christmas0
