But Buffy, I am a cynical old bag! I don't get why he'd do it for nothing unless he was trying ot get something out of it....people just don't do things for nothing...well.....not unless they have an ulterior motive....

    Afternoon all

I am flipping exhausted...rushed around like a mad thing this morning and did some finishing off bits at the house and then went to pick up OH from the airport...his ex wife was waiting there too to pick the children up, I do find it all very weird still but she is pleasant and we can hold a reasonable conversation! Anyway we've decided that we are going to take as much of the remaining stuff in my house and move into the new house tomorrow :):)

so better get supper on and B in the bath...we all need an early night

    Hi all

I normaly post on the small things thread, but am bored at home and reading through this thread and hope no one minds me butting in.

For those doing hampers/gifts sets of homemade goodies, i tend to that and have done for years...

This year instead of wrapping paper I am making drawing string gift bags from scraps of fabric and ribbon.

Also for those who dont mind foraging...try picking blackberries and adding to whisky (cheap) in a big jar and in a couple of months strain and hey presto a really yummy gift, you can even rebottle or put in a jar with a ribbon.

Or- rosehip syrup - more vitamin C than oranges and dead easy to make, sloe gin/brandy/whisky/vodka
If any of you have a sunday fruit/veg market and box of fruit in season makes very cheap chutney or jam, i bought a box of apricots for £3!
Finaly, i make homemade chocs/truffles but a really easy recipe that doesnt involve cream so less calories, always a but hit with my friends :)
been away for a while..need to get on financial track!
 debts.....Post Grad Student Loan, Northern Rock Loan, Egg CC, Halifax CC, A&L CC, A&L overdraft

sally, they do sound slightly mental! Don't touch it til you know it's yours (and I guess it would be VERY nice if it was)
