Please Help Need decent broadband connection!!!

I currently have my internet with Tiscali and it continously disconnects and never connects after 8pm and it's so frustrating.

My phone line is with TalkTalk and although I have found them to be cheaper than BT their customer services are really poor.

I'm looking to change my phone and broadband companies to another supplier - I don't mind paying a little more if I recieve good customer services. Is there a phone and broadband supplier who are relatively cheap and have a customer services in UK only.

Please, please help to save my sanity!!! Many thanks in advance.

No doubt there will be people who say avoid TT at all costs, and maybe a few weeks ago, I would have agreed with them, but things have changed for me and so far.......!.The first thing I'd ask would be "how much are you currently paying per month for your TT phone account?". As you will be aware, for £9.95 (I think it is) with TT, you get free BB as well. YES, I hear people shout, but what about connections?. Since my initial problem, I find that I can connect everytime (shush), but when I don't, I've found that instead of banging away at first this and then that, I simply close down everything, especially the power, wait a minute and start again........successfully. It's as though this complete re-boot clears everything.It is said on MSE and several other sites, that it's a pain to leave TT, so I'd be tempted instead of using the net/phone to contact TT, I'd be tempted to use the Carphone Warehouse shop and actually pin'em down and ask the question, "if I take up TT's BB and find it not to my liking, can I have a written gaurantee that I will be able to cancel without hassle? including the phone account?".I'd have thought it odd to have TT for phone and someone else for ISP.

Thats for your reply, currently i'm on talk2 3.99 I think for my phone with TT, but i'm really wanting to move from them as I have found the customer services to be really bad, I phone on Monday and had to wait 15 minutes to speak to someone, then it was in a foreign call centre and he found it difficult to understand me, then when I gave him all the my details he hung up on me!!! So i rang back and waited in the queue for another 10 minutes and got through to a african call centre (the lady told me) and I asked to be transferred to a call centre in the Uk and she just put me back in the queue!!
Really big Headache - only wanted to know why I had a bill from Ontel (apparently they have merged) for 0.96p, my name but a different account no, and they had been given my bank detail and are taking the d/d out on the 25th!! Still no answer to that one!!

I am still with Tiscali because I was waiting to see if TT was OK before transferring my broadband over - won't be doing that now.

I really just want a smooth transaction and great customer services - maybe I'm asking too much, not sure that it exists!!!
