oooh, its been a while since I'v been here!

I need to try and get back on the DFW wagon... so here goes, my list of things done for the weekend.

*Did 0% balance transfer for next 6 months, may not clear it, but will at least make a big dent in it.
*Had friends over for dinner friday night and we girlies stayed in whilst the boys went out.
*Decided to bake cakes and make leaving presents for team as I start job next week.
*Have been making plans for Christmas, found a great idea for some presents to make for girlfriends.
    *Finished library book.
    *Checked bank account
    *Checked surveys
*Doing "homework" for work - don't want to leave on a bad note
    *NSD today
*All searches done through swagbucks, hoping to earn as many as I can, every 700 sb's = $5 (about £3.10) in paypal money.
*Clicked on affiliate craft site link - every click= 2p

Its payday next Friday and I so desperately want to start getting stuff sorted out.
Clicking, searching and surveying my way to a life of debt freedom!

  • decided to buy a friend (who is also a colleague) a book as a gift from amazon, used gift voucher from Harris poll. So have saved myself £5 that I was going to put into the kitty ;)

Now need to wrestle with my conscience as to whether to pay that £5 to my loan or put it into my purse...

  • Hiya everyone,

    Can't believe it's Monday tomorrow already!!! :(

Today was a good day - we all went to a local park with the dog and went for a wander, it also had a play park so DS was happy - although there was an ice cream van so we ended up having ice creams so not an NSD for me :o

My list for the weekend: -
    • [STRIKE]check on-line banking and update spreadsheets[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]check surveys[/STRIKE] none
    • [STRIKE]HM pizza from freezer for tea (also froze half a packet of mozzarella so hopefully it's ok)[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]lunch from stores[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]weather grey, rainy and windy so try and think of something to do that doesn't cost loads[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]HM bread[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]HM rolls tomorrow for lunches during the week[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]banana loaf[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]chocolate biscuits[/STRIKE]

    List completed!!!! :j

Also - today I have put one load of washing out to dry, which reminds me I'd better take it in!!!

I was also going to give banana muffins a go but have discovered I don't have any tubs left!!! They're all in the freezer with meals in them :D... this always happens near the end of the pay month - possibly need to buy some more.

Have a chilled night everyone, and hope you managed to stay away from the frazzles Hannah :)x

I've had a good but eventful weekend. DM was staying over all weekend to baby-sit for me.

    Things completed on Saturday:

    · Completed m.s assignment (free dinner for all the family)
    · Attended a training day for my volunteer animal work (free complimentary lunch)
    · Organised the diary for next week
    · Sorted the stock for the boot sale and loaded the car
    · Had a quick shower
    · Spent some time with DM

    Things completed on Sunday:
    • Had a quick shower
    • Went to the local boot sale (selling) – Sadly it was quite so did not make much money.
    • Ironed work stuff for next week
    • DH cut the grass today so garden is now looking a bit better
    • All meals from the stores
    • Caught up with FB
    • Caught up with emails
    • Spent some time with DS
    • Spent some time with DM
    • Made some homemade bread
I feel like I’ve not stopped this weekend but on reflection I have not actually done that much.
    Aiming to get Debt Free.
  • Hi Guys,
Long time no see - but have been away and am deturmined to get back on the debt free wagon!! ( haven't fallen off as such - not been spending loads, just not been really really careful!) Joined this thread on 1st Jan and have cleared about 6k this year want to clear another 5 k by next jan.

Have been very down recently and not able to get myself together. Have just had a week off work and am back in tomorrow but the time off has reminded me that theres only me who can influence how i react to things - especially work related stress so am going to make a big effort to look after myself stress wise and not end up in the mess i have been in for the last couple of months.

I love this board because everyone is so lovely, so i'm going to keep a better record of the good things i am doing to take contraoll of my debt...
Starting with todays achievements - went to Lidl to do shop - this is because I was in abroad last week visiting some faminly and i went to the lidl there and was amazd by the quality of the food - thought I'd try here and have been very very impressed. Have spent 45 pounds - and am very impressed with the quantity of stuff i got!.

Am gettin gorganised with meals again and have done a food plan for the week, and am making an effort to see people this week before my evening work kicks in in a couple of weeks.

Me and oH have got out of the habit of car sharing but are goign to start it up again this week to save petrol - we work in walking distance fro each other 20 mins drive from the house.

Have also spent time today wrtiting a list of all the items that i use that carry VAT so that beween now and christmas I can start to double up when there are BOGOF or good offers on the products I get - diswasher powder etc.

Spent ages today lloking for my tesco vouchers that I have put in a safe place as i plan to stock up on pet food with the double voucher deal - but the place I have put them is so safe.... I'm sue they will turn up - wil keep looking this week!!

I'm also going to make a really big effort to record my milage and claim for it at work instead of thinkin i don't have the time... again looking after me and trying not to get in to the stress mode!!

Well.... now I've got that off my chest - I shall check in tomorrow night - prob while the football is on!!

    NMS xx

Hello all (nice to see several new posters) :j

I haven't posted for a while due to work-related issues (being kn*****ed most of the time - ooh I had to put more stars in there!)

I was shattered yesterday and did very little :o must have needed a rest!

    But today I have:

Picked tomatoes, runner and french beans, raspberries, courgettes and a big butternut squash (!)

    Cleaned chooks out

    Watered plants

Made banana ice cream in my ice cream maker (bought in the sale for half price a couple of weeks ago, wanted one for ages). Worked out very well - bearing in mind it used up a couple of really manky bananas - now off to find more ice cream recipes :T

    Washing on line to dry

HM meals from stores and garden

Off to bed soon as another week's work threatens

Bank holiday weekend next weekend :T:T:T

Hi folks , not posted for a while but doing my best to save money. Running the risk of going into a half pay situation at work due to needing time off :( Not easy as a single parent with a mortgage.

    I have :
    • Paid off last of cards that have interest added so only interest free CCs now.
    • Paid Tax on car - opted for 6 months , is more expensive but need the money in my account just in case.
    • Checked online banks - payday thursday
    • Done the tidying and cleaning - if my house looks okay I feel a bit better.
    • Changed water payments to monthly DD. Normally pay quarterly but this months bill was  , no idea how that happened :( (meter)
    • Done a couple of surveys
    • Listed a couple of items on ebay (don't have time to do much at present even though I have loads to sell)
    • Made an enormous pot of curry using mostly storecupboard ingrediants and slightly past there best veg. Should do a few meals.
    • Kept in touch with DD using free texts - she's living with her nan till situation changes.
    And I will :
    • Try and make sense of forms sent by union benevolent fund to apply for short term help with mortgage.
    • Get ebid listings back up and running
    • check for freebies
    • enter some comps - won tickets for rugby last week which was a nice treat for my DB and neice.
    • put the cheque for 12p in my bag for next time I go to bank :o , bet they think I won't bother banking it but every penny counts
    • Look out for a nice (cheap) pressie for my nephew.
Not sure when I'll be back here posting but will lurk occasionally for ideas.
