    LOL.

There's another Aintree / Trethowans case coming up on 29th June. There were no spaces, so our defendant parked in an unsigned disabled bay. He was admitted and spent the night and day in there for a suspected stroke.

All in a days work for a PPC.

The prima-facie evidence of the admission as an in-patient for observation should mean a cancelled penalty, but heigh ho, that would lose them a penalty charge; lucky for the defendant that Trethowans weren't suing their executors, for the unpaid penalty invoice if they had died in hospital. I wouldn't put that past these rapacious greedy clowns.

In fact I have FOI'd Aintree to ask just that question!

Dear Aintree University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust,

    Dear Sir or Madam.

Can you please supply me with the details of the following.

1 What the total cost has been for Aintree NHS trust to pursue
penalty parking charges through the county courts.

2 How much Aintree NHS trust has recovered though Judgements
    obtained.

3 How much has been paid out to successfully defended claims.

    Yours faithfully,
