The guy said that when you upgrade thats what your stuck with ?? I never remember it being like that ??

Is the one you are on at the mo a 12 month contract. Are you trying to get on to 18 month contract tariff?0 -

i know its not the same but 4 months ago my oh was 6 months into her 12 month contract and orange direct let her downgrade from a £35 pm to £19 pm with no charge at all so really do think someone in the shop has got the wrong end of the stick..0

How far into your contract are you? I.e. how long have you had your phone for with orange?"An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0

If you reduce your tariff within a specified time, you would be charged the difference, but going up???
this is article 4 from Orange's T's & C's;
You will not be able to switch to a lower Service Plan for the first 6 months of a 12 month contract or for the first 9 months of an 18 month contract. After the first 6 or 9 months, as appropriate, you may switch to the next lowest value Service Plan a maximum of one time per month for the remainder of the contract term. For example, if you are on Racoon £35 but wish to be on Dolphin £25 you may (at month 6 or 9 depending on your contract length) switch to Racoon or Canary £30 and then the following month switch to Dolphin £25. You are able to switch to an equivalent or higher Service Plan at any time.CPW Retail
