I think Martin must know?? Its quite the discussion over on the CAG. I m battening down the hatches and trying not to think about it till I get a court date.
the sick thing is the bank has offered me the money, and I could have had it by now, but they wanted me to promise I wouldnt sue them again (not likely ) and to confidentiality, which I said Id do, but only if they explained what they meant by it.
CAG reckon they are gonna fold & the money will be in my account asap. Ij checkng every 5 mins, but it aint there :beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

If they fold (and I believe they will - so that'll hex it), they will at the eleventh hour - so stop checking your bank account! They'll do that hoping you'll fold first.
I would imagine that the Gov will eventually pull some stunt and enact legislation/regulation to get the banks off the hook, like they did with mis-selling (fraud by anyone else's dictionary)."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Well done!
I was thinking of trying to claim £300+ back from HSBC (£125 in one month at one point) but was worried about being able to set up another bank account. How likely is it that they'll close the existing account in poeples' experience?0 -
Oh great, yet more money claimed from the banks mean's even less interest on my saving's.
Don't you people read your T&C's? Can't you sort your finances out so you don't get charged these "illegal" fines. ie. pay on time etc...
I hope someone get's truely stitched up soon and have to pay cost's to the bank they are claiming from. I would have no sympathy...some people label me a troll.Totally Realistic Opinion Let Loose0 -
Bt _man stop peeing on our parades I am up to my eyeballs because of situation I'd rather not discuss with people like you to judge me You dont understand How and why I am so in debt and needing to do things like this It must be lovely sitting up there on your high horse with no money worries.
The charges were illegal immoral and unethical Its my money they have any yes If I didnt mess up in the first place I woudnt have to claim back so please dont judge first rule in the DFW on top of the forum you can see is not to judge!
Anyways..... The "call" I have been waiting on all day..... Turned out to be a email from Smile and now I am bloody smiling!!!!!
Dear Mrs itsarichmansworld
I'm sorry that you've felt the need to write to smile about the charges applied to your account and about the time it's taken to reply to you.
I've reviewed your complaint a refund of the charges applied to your account has been agreed. As such £435.02 has now been issued to you in cheque form as a gesture of goodwill and will be with you shortly. As debit interest does not constitute a charge or fee, this has not been refunded. I hope you find this result to be satisfactory.
At this stage we are required to let you know that smile will regard your complaint as closed if we do not receive a reply within 8 weeks of this response.
If you remain unhappy you may ask for your complaint to be referred to the Financial Ombudsman Service. Full details are on our website, https://www.smile.co.uk / talk to us / complaints.
Yours sincerely
