reasonable to me for a family of 5 in main school term for what would be 3 adults (15 yr old counts as adult with most) would be about £2,500 for 2 weeks maybe around 2 for 1 week.
Just a quick look gives me a cheapish flight to Majorca in August and thats 850 without any hotel or transfers

a family friend has a place in Portugal..... chepaer to get flights there etc?

The more I save then more spending money we have...
