I am getting married on August 26 nad we want to leave for our honeymoon preferably on August 27 or 28th is ok too. We want to be away for 1 week.

My partner has scoured websites looking at Accomodation in Santorini and we like the look of VIP. We were quoted Euro100 per night for an 8 night stay = Euro800 for accomodation. That is for a superior studio with air conditioning and we believe it has a view over the Caldera with a private balcony.

In terms of accomodation we want to stay in Oia, preference is for a room with air con, a room with a view and preferably a private balcony. A pool would be a bonus (we know VIP does not have one and because of the rocky terrain on the cliff face not all places do). Room only is ok.

All London airports are ok. On travelocity there are flights for around £275 on Sunday the 27th Olympic leaving from Gatwick at around 9:00am on the 27th, stopping twice and getting to Santorini around 6:00pm, and coming home on Monday 04th there is a morning flight at around 7am or 4pm in the afternoon from memory.

We also know there is a Thompson charter flight leaving on the Tuesday and coming back on the Tuesday for £249 through flight centre. The problem I have with this, although I have not ruled it out is we will be haning around in London for an extra day before we go, then we have to take 1 extra day off work afterwards. We do not mind stopping on our journey but we do not want over night connections.

We want to keep it to under £1000 for the 2 of us, VIP for 8 nights and the Olympic flights we are just over, probably £1100 would be our top limit.

Any suggestions would be great, we are planning on booking really soon.

My OH and I are looking for a late deal to Barbados

4- Are night flights acceptable ? - yes
5- Party size- 2 adults
6- Board basis you require – all incl, full board or at minimum bed & breakfast
7- Type of resort – quiet, couples oriented, small - we quite like the look of the Island Inn
8- Any resorts you WOULD NOT go to – nothing too big or child friendly
9- Any other necessary factors, - doesn't have to be on a beach, but easy access to one; we don't want to have to hire a car
10-Max. budget - £1400

Keep finding things that look like they fit the bill online, but then the price jumps up with extras.

Can anyone help?

I am looking to take my family skiing next December.
We are 2 adults 2 kids aged 14 & 15.

We went to Pamporovo in Bulgaria many years ago 1989 ish and had an OK time, it was the lowest price you could ski for then. The accom was basic and the place was well economicaly depressed, the food was errr basic to say the least, are things any better there now? Is Bulgaria still the cheapest place you can ski ?

Obviosly I mean all in . i.e. eating out flights acomadation ski hire lift passes , resort costs etc , you know the whole cost of the holiday.

Im not that bothered "where" we go but I want the absolute best deal I can possibly get.

Any idea what im will be likeley to pay ?

Liz...the Majorca one is upto 450 now its gone up slightly over night.

maryjane01...direct flights only go on a Tuesday or Thursday with Thomsonfly.
Oia is lovely and very very romatic but like you say because most propertys are built into the cliff not too many have pools. Have a look at Imerovigli ( or Vicar of Dibley as hubby calls it) its a stunning place.

go with the direct flight going via Athens can be a pain in the butt and not a good way to start your honeymoon and there are rumours of Olympic Airlines being in trouble I wouldnt risk booking with them.

only 6 weeks to when we go back we love Kamari then go into the realt busy places for the day.
Oia can get packed in August with all the cruise ships and all the American touists head straight for there and prices are way way over the top because of that. Thira is better and there are some lovely places around the cost to see the wonderful sunset that dont get so packed.

around the 22/5 for 7 days or earlier as long as it includes the Bank Holiday Monday.

For the 22nd I have been quoted £1229 from East Mids - just basic price no meals or anything extra.

For 15th from Doncaster I have been quoted £1,127 but this is with a family interconnecting room.

For 24th from East Mids £1,379

irocan...save your money and go self catering.
You can get a 3*AOA with Mytravel for 890 for both of you its not that expensive to eat out

or put it together yourself price is £784.00 for the flight tehn you have to add hotel on top of that.

Just looked at expedia and they have the Barbados beach club on BB for Superior 1271 total
or the Discovery Bay by Rex Resorts in Holetown which is nice for 1500 and I am pretty sure the Discovery bay is AI expedia have many more and some good prices

macca....a friend of mines just put the exact same hotel together himself using Venere and flights from Luton for about 600 for all 3 of them.
Would you be prepared to do DIY? or do you want a package?
