Do i need to be paying for the sky hd pack?

I have a sky hd box, but we only subscribe to the variety pack (channels 1 - 100 ish)a dn the HD pack

We only ever really watch bbc hd, channel 4 hd and itv hd, are these available without paying the had pack subscription?

If they we're and i cancelled would i be able to watch box office HD movies with out a the HD pack?

no you would syill get bbc and channel 4 and itv but you wouldnot get the rest of the hd channels

You would actually get BBC HD, ITV1 HD, channel 4HD, Five HD, Luxe HD (for what its worth) and the soon to launch BBC1 HD but AFAIK you would not be able to order HD Box Office Movies/Events only the SD versions providing you keep a minimum one pack subscription. You would also not get the HD versions of ITV2, 3 and 4 which will be launching soon.

Don't forget that Sky are also aligning their HD subscription to their channel mixes: ie: if you have a HD channel in variety pack, you'll only get it if you subscribe to that pack.

So to get the movies in HD, you'd need to subscribe to the movies pack and the HD pack to align them both together.

Having recently unsubscribed from Sky altogether, the HD box does allow you to get the free to air channels that davemurgatroyd mentioned, but without a Sky sub - no recording.
