I'd recommend Terry Pratchett as well - the Tiffany Aching books (The Wee Free Men, Hat Full of Sky and new one Wintersmith) are aimed for younger readers as well as adults, as are a couple of his other series, the Bromeliad and Johnny books.
Almost all of the 'classic' version of Doctor Who came out in novelisation form and there are lots of good stories that can be found cheaply, as well as new style Who fiction aimed at older children.Do I Need One Stops All Unnecessary Reckless Spending£2 CSC - £30 :kisses3:0 -
How about the classics like Little Women and Black Beauty - I loved them when I was younger.
Like everyone else I ready Nancy Drew, all the Enid Blyton books, What Katy Did, nursing stories, horsey stories etc.....
