I'm pretty sure you're fine like that. If you go onto the Lobby screen, it will either say "Log in" or "My Account" down at the bottom somewhere. If it's the former, then you need to log-in; if it says the latter then you're fine and already logged in
Only thing to be wary of is that some poker software automatically logs you off if you've been inactive for a certain period of time (tends to be round an hour). Not sure if the Betfair one does this or not, but best to keep an eye on it0 -
ok i have taken the plunge as well and will be playing *cough i use the term VERY loosely* poker tonight for the first time.....so as a virgin can anyone either point my in the direction of idiot proof way to play or explain it really really easily ??Brendan's new dance partner...please0

Redrum wrote:As long as you've registered for the tournament and are logged into Betfair at 7.30, you don't need to worry. The tournament will start and you'll get automatically allocated to a table
If you're busy at that time - putting babies to bed, eating dinner etc - then you'll get set as "away" meaning that you won't play any hands. All that will happen is that you'll pay your blinds as and when it's your turn
So if the first chance you got to sit down and play was 7.45, you'd probably have around 1,400 chips left (out of starting 1,500) and can start to participate in hands
Just make sure you've registered for the tournament on Betfair and are logged into the system at 7.30 and the above will happen no probs
As a footnote, the OH is trying out a roast dinner tonight, so not sure I'm going to be able to play - grrrrrr! Don't think she'll be too happy if I've got a plate on my lap and the computer in front of me!
so do you have to physically be there to play in order to get your 500 points? Or does it play your hand automatically?0 -
You do not have to play to get your points for signing up to Betfair.
AS long as you register with Pigsback and Betfair before about 19.15 you will still be able to get your points. ie you need to log into Betfair.
My daughters boyfriend registered with Betfair and signed up to play on Sunday. He logged into Betfair to register and then decided he was too busy to play that night. He never played a hand and was logged off from Betfair by 19.00 on the day so never sat down for the tourny. He still got credited his 500 points that week.
You cannot have 2 people from the same IP address sat at the same table. There is nothing stopping you from have 2 , 3 or 4 people from the same house playing in the tourny but if 2 of you end up on the same table one of you has to log out to allow the other to play. Found this out when 3 of us wanted to play a cash game and it would only let one sit at the table.
Betfair CS said it is to stop people "cheating" you could also abuse the bonus system.
We had myself, my wife, Son and Daughter playing in one tourny about 6 weeks ago. we never ended up on the same table so never had a problem. we got knocked out but my daughter went on to win it. With some help from me.
Oh, we all changed our points up to Betfair vouchers last week and got our Betfair cheques yesterday. Money in the bank today.3.795 kWp Solar PV System. Capital of the Wolds0 -

If you Google "texas holdem guide" or "how to play Texas Holdem", there's loads of stuff on the internet. I can't post the links as work blocks access to gambling sites!
Or there's a video on YouTube that's quite helpful - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vPpAhwhM1M0 -

I keep meaning to ask - are you spending all your time playing poker, searching Pigsback, matched betting and getting cash back instead of some intensive weight loss program?!
All that sitting at the computer eating crisps and drinking wine doesn't really help matters....trust me I know!!0 -
