Has anyone else heard of this?
It is probably just wishful thinking on my behalf but I'm sure that I heard this mentioned by our finance/HR person a while back. She hasn't said anything recently though (probably because two people, including me, are supposed to exchange in the next week). I work for a US company so this might also have something to do with it. I'll also see if I can do some research tomorrow on our intranet.

It's between you and your employer. There's no statutory right as far as I know.
Have you read your conract of employment to see what that says?0 -
It looks like most government organisations offer this and call it 'removal leave'. If you work for a council and are moving soon, check it out as you might be entitled to an extra paid day or two off for your move.
I'll search my contract and the HR policy at work tomorrow.0 -
Some companies have such benefit, I used to work for couple of them. There is only one way to find out if your company does the same - ask you boss or HR.0

That it is discretionary, not statutory.
It isn't mentioned at all on my contract but I'll check with HR tomorrow on the off chance.0 -
