Hello everyone,
Earlier this evening my phone froze and I had to take the battery out of the back. It wouldn't turn back on. I spoke to Sony Ericsson and they said try doing an update. This didn't work.
I spoke to Virgin who my contract is with. They said as the phone is out of warranty they can't replace it. They've said the only way i could get a phone would be pay the £72 for the remaining 4 months of my contract and upgrade early!
I mentioned I had insurance and they said, well they may cover this for you. Is what the woman at virgin saying true? Surely as a customer I expect a phone to not break after 12 months! Does anyone have any advice?
This is severely bothering me.

If Samsung provide only a 12 month warranty then yes. Your contract with them is for a voice and data service - and a separate contract of sale for the hardware. Your insurance should cover the cost of repairing the phone, or replacing it; otherwise try going through to their disconnections team and advise them why you want to leave. They may be able to offer something to you.0

Sony Erricson usually have a 2 year warranty, check the paperwork that came with the phone.
If it's in waranty you cna get a repair or replacment at the sellers discressions, if outs out of warranty then unfortunalty thats it.
Should you expect it to last over 12 months, hard to say, given most people change a phone every 12/18/24 months depending on the contract you'd be hard pushed to say that the phone is meant to be a long term durable items.0
