Multiroom Sky Deal - New Customer

Hi,

Me and a housemate are currently contemplating joining Sky. I (not we) currently pay around £27 per month for BT Landline and O2 Broadband. This could reduce to £17 per month if I join O2 home phone when my contract is up next month.

I already have an active landline in my room and he has a dead port in his. We also already have an unused Sky dish outside

We are considering the following Sky Package:

SKY TV: £34 per month
  • Knowledge Pack;
  • Movies 1 and 2

SKY BOXES: £199 for extra box + £10 for multiroom
  • Sky+ box 1 (FREE)
  • Sky+ box 2
  • Standard Setup (FREE)

SKY BBAND and TALK: £7.50 pcm for BB + £11 pcm for line rental
  • Broadband Unlimited
  • Talk Freetime
  • Sky Talk Line Rental

TOTAL = £62.50 pcm + £199 one off payment

Is this correct?
Will there likely be any hidden costs?
Could we get any deal considering we already have a dish outside?

    Why are you paying £199 for a extra box?
    You can get a standard Sky box for free when taken with Multiroom.

    If you want another Sky+/HD box, have a look on ebay and swap with your standard box.

    I'm aware of that now thanks.

    There's a slight problem anyway. I am under contract to O2 until April 2011 and it will cost me £90 to come out of it. My only saving grace is that my housemate doesn't have an active phone line (the box in his room is dead) so he would have to pay £39 to reactivate it. I've said to him that if he's willing to pay a further 6 pounds and go halves with me on paying off the remaining O2 BB contract, then we can proceed with the installation of Sky TV/BB/Phone as normal at the abovementioned cost minus the cost of the extra Sky+ box. Win/win all round imo.

    Any thoughts on this?

    Don't think an existing dish will cut much ice with them, as you'll need at least a quad LNB on it if not already fitted, plus the cabling,
    Sky probably pay about a pound for their dishes wholesale...
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
